Thursday May 1, 9:30 am ET BRENTWOOD, TN--(MARKET WIRE)--May 1, 2008 -- Santa Fe Holding Co., Inc. (Other OTC:SFHD.PK - News), the parent company of Santa Fe Cattle Co., announced today that it has set the opening date of its newest restaurant. This will be the company's 23rd location and will open on May 5th in Tuscaloosa, AL. Santa Fe Holding Co. is a restaurant holding company which currently owns and operates 22 Santa Fe Cattle Co. restaurants located throughout 7 states.
The new store is located in Tuscaloosa, AL and will be the third location to open in 2008. In announcing the opening date, Santa Fe Cattle Co. Chairman, Danny York, said, "We are very excited to be opening our 8th location in the great state of Alabama. The Alabama market has been one of our strongest and we will open at least 3 more locations in Alabama in 2008." The most recent Santa Fe Cattle Co. to open in Alabama was this past February in Troy. Mr. York went on to say, "The Troy, AL store had the company's largest opening sales week and is continuing to do very well. Santa Fe Cattle Co. currently has 5 locations under construction and will open a total of 10 new locations in 2008."
After posting larger than expected opening week sales at their most recent new stores, York also added, "Our customers love our new 6,000 square foot model store and really appreciate the fact that we have kept our prices low given the fact that almost every food commodity has increased in price. We will continue to provide the best price to value experience in the steakhouse industry."
